Using Modern Maps of the Holy Land of the Bible

  • Using modern archeological findings on the Holy Land
  • Modern Images taken from Space Satellites
  • We compare Ancient Israel, Israel in Christ time and Israel Today
  • We examine Genesis 15:18-21, the covenant the Lord made with Abram, on the Promised Land to the Children of Israel
  • We trace the Footsteps of Jesus Christ through the Holy Land

We trace the footsteps of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ though the Holy Land from the birth of Jesus, His walk and travels from childhood to His baptism and ministries in His latter years, and latter hours, from Sea of Galilee, along the Jordan River down to the Dead Sea, from His betrayal, His trial, His crucifixion and resurrection.

What natural or supernatural phenomenon could cause a cock to crow? This creature of God is believed to crow at the first crack of darn to exert authority. The cock crows when it senses a certain natural or supernatural flash of light communicating with it. In this case, the only correct answer to this question, explaining why the cock at the High Priest Palace crew, and at precisely the time the Lord Jesus Christ said to Peter that the cock will crow, and exactly the event that must take place causing the cock to crow, has to be the following: The reason must have been a Devine reason. It had to have been an Act of the Almighty Lord God Himself.

Matthew 27:59-61

59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

Then they later came and secured the stone that Joseph had placed so that it would not roll and they then sealed it as was required of them in Matthew 27:66 by the Roman government, placing the Roman-issued seal upon the stone which was also placed under tight Roman guards. We recall the Romans had heard so much about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Jew to take place on the third day.

61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.

But, On the Third Day

Matthew 28:1-2

1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

He is not here, for He is risen, as He said.

Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

When is Easter?

As Christians we shall all understand how and why the date of Easter has been determined and indicated on our modern calendars.

Easter is by definition that Sunday that falls right after the paschal full moon; the very next full moon that comes on or after the vernal equinox (or Spring equinox).

We Recall:

Our modern calendars that are hanging up on our walls at home go by the spin rate of the planet Earth and its orbit about the sun.

  • The Earth spins around once every 24 hours

  • And the Earth orbits about the sun once every 365.25 days

All of our calendars, to include the nicely picturesque and expensive calendar hanging on the walls at home, are good for only one year. After 365.25 days (366.25 days of a leap year), our calendars are all completely obsolete and ready for the trash.

The Bible does not use a calendar that is based on our modern calendar. Our calendars count the days of the week, the weeks of the month, months that vary from 28 days to 29 days as the month of February, 30 days hath September and 31 days hath the other months of the year, a year which varies from 365.25 days to 366.25 days of a leap years. Our modern calendars are not perfect

The Bible uses only the Hebrew or the Nisan calendar (often referred to the Jewish calendar). The Bible uses the phases of the Moon to mark the time spans. Great multitudes sent out witnesses to observed phases of the Moon and scheduled their feasts and events accordingly.

  • Ezekiel 46:3 Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the LORD in the Sabbaths and in the New Moons. [See also Ezekiel 45:17]

Ezekiel 46:3

Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the LORD in the Sabbaths and in the New Moons.

It should be of no mystery why God chose the Moon for the seasons, as the orbital period of the Moon is well known to be a very precise marker of time; used in modern Astrophysics and Astronomy.

Psalm 104:19

He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

  • Astronomy is a Science

  • Astrology is a craft

Astronomy has nothing at all to do with Astrology which is a craft, junk, a divination. You do not want to teach such to your children

  • Deuteronomy 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that ... useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

The Bible refers only to the Hebrew or the Nisan calendar.

  • Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  • Psalm 104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

The Passover commences on the 15th of the Hebrew month of Nisan and last for 7 days.

Let's imagine you are on a spacecraft and are parked one million miles from planet Earth. It is now the month of February of 28 days. Looking out of the window of your spacecraft, you are viewing the Moon's orbit about the planet Earth. You will notice it takes the Moon about 28 days to circle or orbit the Earth. From Earth you will see the phases of the Moon; a Full Moon, a Half Moon, a New Moon and another Half Moon. These phases take a period of about 28 of our modern days. This is a Month of the Nisan or the Hebrew calendar, often referred to the Jewish calendar.

On board your spacecraft, your flight computer indicates the phases of the moon on the February calendar, as it would be seen from Earth. The space traveler will note that the Earth spins around once during a 24-hour day. The moon appears to take exactly 29.5 days (or spins of the Earth) to complete one orbit about the Earth, nearly a 30-day month, from full-moon to full-moon, as observed from the Earth. It is well known from Modern Astronomy that the moon actually orbits the Earth in exactly 27.3 days (not 29.5 days), using the distant stars as a background reference. This period is the true orbital period of the moon and is known as a sidereal month.  This agrees with the Biblical Month or the Month of the Nisan calendar of the Bible.
